Accelerating DevOps, Cloud and Agile Transformation in Banks with Rancher

Abstract: Rancher is a complete software stack for teams adopting containers. It addresses the operational and security challenges of managing multiple Kubernetes clusters, while providing DevOps teams with integrated tools for running containerized workloads.

By utilizing existing banking data centers and servers for the purpose of development “test & learn”, engineering teams in banks realize that Rancher provides a rich collection of engineering systems and tools that can be leveraged in sandboxed environments directly by engineering teams without the need to raise IT tickets or wait for slow, centralized banking decisions.

Learn how Wipro engineers use Rancher to build sandbox developer environments for banking engineering teams that included Jenkins, Nexus, Sonar, Vault, Gitlab, Web Servers, Grafana Prometheus Stack, ClamAV and Notary that engage lab specific K8 clusters where maintenance and operations of the environment is easy.

Not only does Rancher put banking engineering teams in control of their own development environments, but the tools Rancher provisions can be utilized as part of DevOps and tied to agile definitions that increase quality, efficiency and velocity, whilst reducing engineering costs.

This meetup demonstrates how Rancher can be applied to engineering in banking prior to cloud migration decisions and also educates the versatility of Kubernetes, Docker and Containers that should form part of all banking engineering strategies.
